OPALUS PACK is a manufacturer of natural rubber carton sealing tape for corrugated boxes that are hard to seal with general packing tape. This product uses BOPP/PP backing and natural rubber adhesive to give high initial tack on recycled cartons, rough kraft paper, high-ink printed boxes, dusty flaps, and humid or low-temperature packing areas. It is developed for medium and heavy cartons where flap rebound, edge lifting, and center seam opening must be controlled.

  • Material: BOPP/PP film with natural rubber adhesive
  • Width: 48 mm, 50 mm, 72 mm, custom slit widths
  • Length: 50 m, 66 m, 100 m, 1000 m machine rolls
  • Color: Clear, tan, brown, custom color available
  • Thickness: 45 um-74 um typical factory test range
  • Use: Recycled cartons, rough boxes, dusty surfaces, heavy cartons

Product Features and Benefits

Product Overview

Natural rubber carton sealing tape should have a clear position in the carton sealing range. It is not written as a super clear appearance tape, a low-noise tape, or a general price-driven packing tape. Its value is in difficult carton sealing, especially when recycled corrugated boxes have loose fibers, uneven kraft paper, dust, moisture, or heavy ink coverage that reduces surface contact.

OPALUS PACK uses a solvent natural rubber adhesive system that gives fast grab after hand or machine pressure is applied. On rough kraft flaps and high-recycled content cartons, the adhesive can contact uneven paper fibers instead of only touching the top surface. Internal sample observation shows better sealing on dusty carton edges and printed flaps where general-purpose tape may lift before the seal has time to set.

The BOPP/PP film backing gives strength without making the tape overly stiff. Typical factory testing shows 23-42 lb/in tensile strength and 120%-175% elongation, depending on film thickness and adhesive coat weight. For heavy carton sealing, carton weight, flap tension, adhesion, holding power, and application pressure should be checked together. A thick tape alone does not solve center seam failure if the carton surface is weak or damp.

Benefits

  • High initial tack helps the tape grab recycled corrugated cartons before flaps spring back.
  • Natural rubber adhesive improves contact on rough paper, dusty edges, and high-ink printed flaps.
  • BOPP/PP backing supports medium and heavy box sealing without excessive stiffness.
  • Adhesion to steel is typically 21-26 oz/in as a reference value.
  • Holding power of >=24 h helps evaluate resistance to flap rebound.
  • Smooth unwind supports hand dispensers and automatic case sealing machines.
  • Clean slitting edges help reduce burrs, tape breakage, and unstable feeding.

How Does Natural Rubber Adhesive Improve Sealing on Difficult Cartons?

On recycled corrugated cartons, rough kraft paper, dusty flaps, and high-ink printed boxes, the adhesive needs to do more than sit on the surface. A natural rubber adhesive layer gives quick initial contact and helps the tape hold before the box flaps lift back under tension. When combined with BOPP/PP backing, the tape keeps enough strength for heavier cartons while still following uneven paper fibers.

Applications

  • Recycled corrugated cartons with loose fibers or uneven kraft surfaces
  • Heavy cartons where flap memory may cause center seam opening
  • High-ink printed cartons where surface contact is less reliable
  • Dusty, slightly dirty, or mixed carton conditions in warehouses
  • Cold storage transfer cartons and refrigerated transport preparation

What Should Be Checked Before Using This Tape in Cold or Humid Conditions?

For refrigerated transport, low-temperature storage, or humid packing rooms, tape performance should be checked on the actual carton, not only by tape thickness. The result depends on carton moisture, application pressure, dwell time, and storage temperature. Procurement teams usually review adhesion to steel as a reference value, then test recycled cartons or heavy boxes with strong flap memory. A stable seal should resist edge lifting, center seam opening, and flap rebound after stacking or transport vibration.

FAQ

Is natural rubber carton sealing tape the same as ordinary carton tape?

No. Both may use film backing, but this tape focuses on natural rubber adhesive performance for recycled, rough, dusty, high-ink, or heavier corrugated cartons.

Can this tape be used on recycled corrugated cartons?

Yes. It suits recycled corrugated cartons where loose fibers require high initial tack and better adhesive contact after pressure is applied.

Is this tape suitable for heavy cartons?

Yes. OPALUS PACK recommends selecting thickness, backing strength, and adhesive coat weight according to carton weight and flap tension.

Should samples be tested before bulk use?

Yes. Sample testing is recommended on actual cartons, especially cold, humid, high-ink, dusty, or heavy boxes.
